The Clinic

Description: Arriving at the scholarly tower, the party hears of tragedy. Students of Prof. Vernant (anthropology) discovered the dead bodies of another group of students who had gone missing. These students had apparently been traveling in search of the Clinic, a defunct hospital for the mentally ill. The party hears of Dr. Guattari, a researcher at the Clinic, and decides to travel to the Clinic themselves to retrieve his reportedly “valuable” notes.
Along the way, the party encounters a group of gray alien creatures, looking for their “brothers and sisters” they believe are being held in the Tower. After a tense conversation with Demien, wherein the aliens politely asked the party to be their hostages, they allowed the party to leave. Medrick attempted to follow them stealthily in hopes of finding their ship/vessel but failed to do so, and left awkwardly.
The next day the party came across an old cottage. The party broke inside to find a couple of giant ticks. One latched on to Damien’s face. Forsgul put the bugs to sleep with a powerful spell, and the party looted the place. Medrick found a magical glowing sword. It spoke to his mind, asking if he was lawful, asking of his deeds, and asked to slay some trolls. The rest of the party did not believe Medrick that the sword could actually talk.
Finally the party reached the Clinic. While exploring the hallways, the party encountered a group of undead. The cleric Damien was able to turn undead and the party got through safely. A strange man named Jorm appeared. He warned the party to be careful of the slime—”your slime, doctor!” Further exploring the clinic led to the discovery of a blocked room or hallway, and the children’s ward. Medrick approached a figure in a crib, which turned out to be a metal baby with glowing eyes that proceeded to claw him to death.
Special or Magic Items: Daughtersteel, the magical talking glowing sword.
