Plan of Action

While at the Broken Head Inn, it was decided to go retrieve the treasure that was discovered from the last session and move it to the secret room in the basement. With that, the party set out for the day.

The Main Hall

The Part descended into the dungeon through the basement.  We went past the secret room to make sure it had not been discovered by anyone. Everything was fine here and proceeded to move into the main hallway where the halflings were.

Entering into the main hall we could smell something strong and foul.  We discovered there was a new plaster wall placed in the hallway that stopped us from going to the statue in the north east.

Upon examining it further, it was determined that goblins had recently put up this barricade. An alternate route was decided.

We agreed to investigate the room to the southeast in the main hall in hopes of finding a different route to the statue to the north east.  The room was filled with trash.  After searching the room we did not find a secret door that we were hoping for.  Not all was lost, we did stumble upon a sapphire in the eye socket of a human skull.  Agoston pocketed the sapphire.  After this set back, we headed north towards the room with the double bronze doors.

Swirling Death

Outside the bronze doors, there are “peek holes”.  When viewing the room beyond the doors, we were able to see a wind vortex moving randomly throughout the room.  Within the room was also a corpse, a halberd leaning against the north wall, and Ibus heads staring into the center of the room.

Ilphas picked the lock to the bronze door and Grimm unstuck the door.  Now the party confronted the wind vortex. All missile attacks did not phase the creature.  When tossing water onto the creature, that seemed to harm it.  However, we ran out of water quickly. Our melee attempts seemed feeble.  The vortex was building up in strength.  It made seeing and breathing difficult.  The vortex landed its mighty fists onto Grimm.  We had to retreat quickly through another exit to the south east.

Upon exiting the room, it was so difficult to see that the hireling Hjalti did not see the great chasm and fell down it. We were able to close the door to prevent the vortex from chasing us.  We all were battered and deflated from the fight and the loss of Hjalti.

Nothing new was present in the room with the statue to the north east.  We thought it best to go and knock over the plastered wall that prevented us access to this room at the start.

On the way back to knock over the plaster wall, we heard a noise and footsteps behind the halfling barricade wall.  It sounded as whoever was there ran off.  We were certain it was goblins that were behind there. It was Alexos idea to take the lids from the sarcophagus from another room and stack it against the barricade to make it more difficult for the goblins from getting onto the other side of the barricade.

In the process of retrieving the lids from the sarcophagus, we encountered what seemed to be a mechanical dragonfly.  Meric let loose an arrow striking the creature.  We scared the dragonfly off.  With that gnat gone, we proceeded to stack the lids against the barricade.

After taking care of the barricade, we went on to the plaster wall.  We knocked over the plaster wall.  After doing that, we quickly went to the statue to the north east and set the left arm to the waist high position and the same was done to the statue to the east and finally the center statue in the main hall.  The stairs to the treasure room were revealed and down we went.

The Mother Load

Since this room was not entirely explored the last time, we had decided that some of the party would start to sort and load the ancient coins into bags.  While the other members started to investigate the room.

The statue of Thoth had some gems in its eye sockets, but seeing what other eye sockets have done from previous statues, we left the gems be.  The arms on this statue were not moveable.  This statue seemed to be just a statue of Thoth.

It was after inspecting the eastern wall on the northern part of it did Grimm find indented eye sockets where the baboon eyes were. Grimm pushed on the indentation and secret room within a secret room was revealed.  This was no ordinary treasure, but rather the more exotic treasure.  Our grand plan had changed rather quickly after this discovery.  Getting these items out of here was now the priority.

There were no coins in this room, but an assortment of rare valuable items. And after Alexos had casted detect magic we discovered there were magic items.  We took inventory and found numerous scrolls, books, masks, and a harp (see stash list for full items).  We gathered up the items that we could carry and some coins headed back to Gosterwick.

What seemed like days in getting back to Gosterwick only took a few hours. This is where our delve ended.
