Description:
- The party set out back to the bat cave entrance, and returned to the altar room where they found Lankios to inspect the murals. There’s 4 on each wall and one on the floor.
- west wall: white baboons clubbing salamanders (humanoid-ish, standson 2 feet; wearing strange clothes)
- north wall: humans bringing offerings of jewels and coins to large ibis figure. The figure has its left arm pointing out parallel to the floor
- east wall: huge white baboon smashing a crocodile with its fists; people standing around, holding their hands up, faces of fear
- south wall: massive set of black doors, 3 orange robed priests in front, one priest has his hand outstretched touching the door; blast of lightning coming down from above frying the priest, other 2 priests standing apart
- floor mural: large ibis headed being standing over corpses being prepared for burial; other humans with feathers in their hair piling up grave goods
- Party explores additional rooms, many of them covered with bones and trash. Find a faintly glowing spear that has the words “night” and “wind” written on it in Mithric (ancient language of the Archonteans; still used as holy language).
- In the hallway to the south (on the other side of the door where the two corpses were lying that we saw when we first descended the stairs), there are a number of large centipedes. The party attempts to disengage; though making it out and back to the inn eventually, Salvatore and Mikeleos suffer poison bites.
- Back at the inn, we learn that the poison bites will leave the two characters out of commission for ten days. Khronos does offer us an overpriced instant cure antidote, though the party does not take him up on his offer.
- Lankios informs the party that the secret to keeping the centipedes away is wearing necklaces of rotting vegetables as well as rubbing the rotting vegetable slime all over one’s body. The party does so and returns to the dungeon, discovering that the centipedes do now leave us alone.
- The party explores a number of remaining rooms, most of which are filled with junk and bones. Other discoveries:
- In one room, a zombie lurches at us. Hektor confronts it, and it seems to attach itself to him and follow him around. The zombie is wearing a pouch filled with rotting vegetables.
- In another room, there are three statue monkeys: one with overlarge eyes, one with overlarge mouth, and the other with overlarge ears. Meric enters the room and the monkey with overlarge mouth swivels toward him, at which point he fills his throat close up and is no longer able to speak. The party turned out of the room at this point and closed the door.
- One room seemed empty but has an unstable ceiling that seems it could collapse at any moment.
- Another room had a pool filled with foul-smelling brown sludge in the center and the corpse of a robed figure in the corner.
Rumors:
Khronos tells Gemistos that “Hurie, the echophant, is a ghost that’s been haunting people in the dungeon. The ghost reacts to loud noises by attacking people with knives.”
